Do you want to make more money selling on eBay?
Do you ever find yourself looking at successful sellers on eBay and thinking –
1. They know something I don't.
2. They've probably got some kind of inside connection that lets them get products cheaper than I ever could.
3. They've already got the market sewed up, there's not any business left for me.
Have you ever told yourself -
1. If I had a little more money, I could buy the inventory I need to make a killing on eBay.
2. If I had a little more time, I'd be able to list enough items to be successful.
3. If I had a little more information, I could pick a killer product that would make me a million dollars selling on eBay.
Sounds crazy, doesn't it?
Every eBay book out there tells you the same thing. You need to find a great product that you can purchase at a reasonable price, and sell for a huge profit. If they don't tell you that, they tell you how easy it is to source product at garage sales, yard sales, flea markets, or the local thrift stores. And, my absolute favorite is the books that list 1001 things you can sell on eBay to make a huge profit. The only problem is half of the items they list are things you're unlikely to find – anywhere. Or, if you do a little research, you discover that fabulous selling price they told you was a one-time thing. The item is actually selling for much less now, if it is even selling at all.
Some books talk about drop shipping, or buying inventory wholesale from secret suppliers they use to make a killing selling on eBay and Amazon. Another eBay expert marketing his advice on Craigslist shows you how to source products on Amazon to sell on eBay. The secret is to discover fast selling items on Amazon, and list them for sale on eBay. When you make a sale on eBay – buy it on Amazon, and have the seller ship it to your customer. Of course, you need to purchase their entire system to make it work - $19.95 per month.
I've investigated all of these scams. And, yes – they are scams. If you buy from the majority of the "Special" wholesalers and drop shippers, you're going to discover most of the items they offer are selling on eBay for less than you paid "wholesale."
No matter what anyone tells you, selling on eBay isn't easy. It's not a sure thing. For every item that sells, another one or two items go unsold, or sell for far less than you hoped for.
