Boccaccio’s 14th century classic takes place as the Black Death is sweeping through Italy. To escape the advancing plague, 10 young people flee to a remote villa where they pass the time telling 100 stories that range from the witty and erotic to the moralistic and tragic, and provide a vivid insight into medieval life.
