Descripción

The longest-running independent fashion trade event in London, Margin is renowned amongst savvy buyers and press, from key stores and publications, for presenting a successful launchpad for directional new designers, alongside credible established brands. With the February 2012 edition marking 10 Years of Margin, we were feeling retrospective so we created a limited-edition book, available to visitors of  the February 2012 edition, to remember previous shows; this is the interactive version of the printed book. We hope you enjoy the extensive photo galleries from each edition of the longest-running independent tradeshow as well as the interactive links. We’re proud of the affordable launchpad we’ve given to new & young brands over a decade of shows, which simply didn't exist before Margin came along.  As streetwear brand Dephect, a long-time Margin exhibitor, says  "At the time of the first Margin there was a real lack of affordable shows in London for small brands to showcase their lines. Even the bigger shows were dying so it was barely worth trying to find the money to exhibit at those. When Margin came along it was the first show of it's kind in London, and gave small brands the opportunity to have serious buyers look at what they had to offer."  Since the exhibitions first started back in 2002, Margin can lay claim to providing the successful trade launch-pad for many streetwear, young fashion, and designer brands such as Lazy Oaf, Sugarhill Boutique, Supremebeing, Dephect, Emily & Fin, Miyson, 1 in a 100, Missmilne, Worn Free, Chateau Roux, Your Eyes Lie, King Apparel, Terratag, Famous Forever, and Ruby Rocks, as well as the UK launching point of overseas brands including Silas, OBEY, Upper Playground, Eastpak Apparel, Loreak Mendian, Syndrome, Al & Alicia, Nooka, Gama-Go, Mimobots, Double Goose, Stereo Sound Agency, Diamond Supply Co, Urban Originals, and Uzi amongst many others. Margin's independence, and careful editing of exhibiting labels, makes the show the most directional & credible UK trade event for streetwear and young fashion which still has the pulling power to attract leading retailers from UK & international quality stores, many of whom do not attend regular tradeshows, including Slam City Skates, Supra, Ran, Wood, The Consortium, Richmond Classics, Switch, Urban Industry, Concrete, Cooshti, Wellgosh, Ace, American Retro, Boy Parker, Hardware, Potassium, Soho Hip, Social, Ark Clothing, Frontline, Joy, Moist, ASOS, Bentalls, Sarah Coggles, and Urban Outfitters, to name a few.  As well as championing new & young fashion brands, Margin has always been involved in promoting new & contemporary art. Graphic designers, graff artists, illustrators, photographers and product designers have been invited to exhibit their work over 10 years of Margin London, including Delta, Shephard Fairey, Insa, Pete Fowler, David Walker, Gemma Correll, and Anthony Zinonos to name a few.  We hope you enjoy this interactive book looking back over 10 years of Margin +  All the best,   Margin
